Today is my Husband and I's 2nd Wedding Anniversary! Two Years ago, we had our fairy tale wedding, it was a day to remember and a day I will never ever forget! We stood together in the church that I grew up in, before family and friends and said vows that we wrote together. Vows that are more than just words, but a promise.
Now, I know that 2 years may not seem like a lot, but in those two years we have experienced so much together. A few months after we got married we got pregnant and experienced the birth of our beautiful baby girl, who is now a fun little one year old! Having a child brings a whole new level to a relationship, in a wonderful way! Chuck and I have also been blessed to both have parents who are strong in their faith and strong in their marriage as examples to us. My parents have been married for over 33 years and his parents for over 45!!
We have our moments, our up's and down's of course. Who doesn't? But we work on our relationship, daily because it matters to us. We read "The Love Dare's" Daily devotional. Which is a great devotional for married couples, we attend marriage retreats at our church and my home church (*see links below) which have been so instrumental in our relationship. So much of what we have learned in God's teaching and at the church has helped better our marriage far beyond what I could have imagined! This is because we truly strive to put God first in our marriage, in our home, our finances and all areas of our life. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves, a cord of three strands is not quickly broken." It takes more than two to make a marriage successful, it takes three! Husband, Wife and God!
I'm so blessed to be married to this wonderful man, and I can't wait to see what the next 50+ years will hold in store for us!
I love you my dear husband!
